Why Your Pain Is a Sign You’re on the Right Path!

More often than not, we get swept away by life—distracted by the outside world like moths to the flame. Just like the loud music and flashing lights in shopping centres and casinos, much of modern life is designed to pull us away from our inner selves and toward impulsive, unconscious behaviour.

Mainstream culture thrives on our distraction. Netflix, alcohol, fast food, social media—these aren't just conveniences, they're coping mechanisms we’ve been trained to depend on. And why would the system want us to sit in silence with ourselves? That would undermine everything. TikTok is the epitome of this—faster reels, faster music, faster communication, busier schedules. Faster. Louder. More.

We’re conditioned to believe life’s purpose is happiness and that if we just work hard enough, we’ll get what we want—and that will make us happy. So when discomfort shows up, we assume something is wrong. The system swoops in: Diagnose it, medicate it, fix it. Now!

And so, we reach for distractions—shopping, alcohol, drugs, scrolling, food, sex, games, socialising—not to celebrate life, but to silence that nagging inner knowing. These work temporarily, but that uneasy feeling always returns. Louder. Stronger.

Eventually, when none of our usual tricks work, we turn to the medical system. We’re told we’re anxious, depressed, broken. We’re given meds that numb our emotions and disconnect us even further from the internal guidance we’ve never been taught to trust. This numbing cuts us off from the very lessons that our pain is trying to teach us.

But what if there’s nothing wrong with you? What if the sadness, loneliness, anxiety, and discomfort you’re feeling are signs you’re finally waking up? What if this pain is guiding you home to yourself? The real problem is that no one gave you the tools to navigate it.

And maybe that’s by design. After all, unhappy people spend more. They stay in jobs they hate. They fill the pockets of pharmaceutical companies and fuel an economy built on keeping us disconnected and dissatisfied.

So ask yourself—do you want to keep living like a zombie, played by a system that thrives on your pain? Or are you ready to finally say hello to that quiet, beautiful voice inside—the one that’s been waiting for you all along?

Woo woo or not, maybe it’s time to stop numbing… and start listening.
